Bicol Fashion Week has come a long way
and is now happy to announce its Wave 2 which will be this September 5 to 9,
2013 to be held in Naga and Legaspi. The
event aims to promote the industry of fashion in the Bicol region by introducing
different styles and trends of the present and showcasing the creations of
world class local designers that has paved the fashion industry.
The event will have a fashion bizarre,
fashion party, inauguration of the newly established Association of Bicolano
models and fashion shows featuring Bicolano designers and four of Manila’s best
designers namely Simon Ariel Vasquez, Chris Jasler, Zandra Lim-Emasa and Xernan Orticio.
As part of this event—no, not as a model
(not gifted with height lol) but as part of the team of Bicol fashion bloggers
who will help in disseminating the event to our readers (yes you!)—each of us
is tasked to feature one of the designers who will take part in the Bicol
Fashion Week and with this, I chose Chris Jasler.

Chris
Jasler, according to The Cartel, is the creative director and founder of Jail
Jeans. He was a former runway model who pursued living his dream of providing
the world with great fashion translated in denim wear. His creations are
nothing short of a spectacle and each piece is a physical manifestation of his
vision. Jail Jeans set the runway ablaze with designs reminiscent of the brave
visions of fashion mavericks like Alexander McQueen and John Galliano.

The brand is the embodiment of both edgy
and luxury denim—cut for the non-conformists that express their individuality
through the clothes they wear. Jail Jeans’ recent showing in New York, Seattle
and Vancouver earned it a strong following and fans in North America, which
include Hollywood celebrities like Apl.De.Ap of The Black Eyed Peas. (Text from

Honesty, I am quite new in the fashion
world. I am still learning about the local designers here in the Philippines
with world class creativity yet I was drawn to Chris Jasler because of his edgy
designs. I didn’t know that denim can look this good. He truly revolutionized
the jeans industry.

His visions are clear and one of a kind.
He creates edgy and futuristic pieces one can dream of wearing. I for sure
would want to wear one of his creations! My style as you have noticed leans
toward edgy. Oh how I wish to have one of those awesome pants!
I’ll
surely look forward seeing his collection at the Bicol Fashion Week this
September! I encourage you guys to watch too! Don’t miss this chance to see the
latest trends this year. Hope to see you there! ^_^
